Newsha joined GIST Lab – Aalto University as a doctoral researcher in November 2023. The main focus of her research will be the development of a novel methodology to quantifying the commuting-related carbon emissions in various cities in Finland, Sweden and Norway under supervision of Prof. Henrikki Tenkanen.

Throughout her professional background, Newsha has gained valuable experience in applying qualitative and quantitative methods into practice, including spatial analysis, spatial statistics, Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, and spatial regression techniques, to uncover hidden patterns that may not be recognizable through conventional analysis.
